Common Questions
Answers to the questions we hear most often from new patients.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Everything you share in therapy is protected by strict confidentiality laws. We will only share information with your written consent, except in rare situations involving immediate safety concerns as required by law.
What if I don't know what to say?
That's completely normal. Your therapist is trained to guide the conversation and help you feel comfortable. There's no script you need to follow — just come as you are.
How long is the first session?
Your initial assessment session typically lasts 50 to 60 minutes. This gives us enough time to get to know you and begin understanding your needs without feeling rushed.
Will I be diagnosed right away?
Not necessarily. A diagnosis may develop over time as your therapist learns more about your experiences. The first session is focused on listening and understanding, not labeling.
Can I bring someone with me?
Absolutely. You're welcome to bring a trusted friend or family member for support. They can wait in our lobby, or with your permission, join part of the session.
Your Comfort Comes First
Your comfort and safety are our top priority. There is no judgment here — only support. Whether this is your first time in therapy or you are returning after a break, we are here to meet you exactly where you are with patience and compassion.
